Society enforces rules to create order. This is required for all social situations,between human beings and animals alike. Living with humans, pets are bound by their owner’s rules, allowing their owner to dominate. Dogs are often described as man’s best friend, however they were initially brought into human society to be used in hunting.  Human were their boss not their friends. Nowadays, the role of the dog has changed. Dogs have become friends, children and status symbols amongst people and sometimes the relationship between owner and dog is so deep and valuable that it can be taken advantage of by others.

To live together with humans, dogs need to leave their natural instinct behind, and play the role that the human has given them without necessarily understanding why.
